For anyone using multiple Atlassian products, we believe this will provide the best editing experience. We're supporting markdown across Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket Cloud to provide a more modern and consistent editing experience. To be transparent, we are closing this issue as we have no plans to support wiki markup in the new editor and new issue view. The second theme is wiki markup generally. You can read more about markdown formatting in Jira Cloud in our documentation. For those of you in this category, if you need to create tables or use emoji in the meantime, you can click through to the old issue view or turn off the new issue view for now by going to your avatar > Personal settings.įor anyone who already has the new issue view for full-page issues though, you can add tables and emoji to your content by clicking the table button in the UI, using the Shift + Option + T shortcut, or by pressing / (this is a handy shortcut to know) and starting to type "table".
The method for creating these, though, will be via markdown. We expect to remedy this over the next few months so that anyone using the new view will be able to create tables and emoji. This effects anyone who doesn't yet have the new issue view for full-page issues. Due to technical constraints, some of you currently won't be able to create tables and emoji in the new issue view. The first is regarding tables and emoji in the new issue view. Just hover over the section title and click More options > Force unlock.There are at least two related but distinct themes on this issue, so it's important that we address both of them to avoid any misunderstanding. If someone is taking too long to edit a section, you have the option of booting them out. If someone else is editing your page, their picture appears next to the page title. However, different people can edit different sections of a page at the same time. Once you start editing a section, it's locked so that no one else can make changes. Next to the page or section title, click More options > Move up or Move down. To move a page or section in your Wiki tab, go to the table of contents. To delete a section, hover over the section name and click More options > Delete. To delete an entire page, go to page title in the table of contents and click More options > Delete.
Your new section appears beneath the section you selected. To add a new section to a page, hover over a section title and click Add a new section here. You can drag and drop your new page anywhere you like. To add a new page to your Wiki tab, just open your table of contents and click Create a new page. Your Wiki tab autosaves your changes as soon as you're done editing, so once you click out of a section, your work is safe and sound. You have all the usual formatting options, such as bold, italic, and underlined text, highlighting, headers, and lists. To make changes to a page or section of a Wiki tab, just click into it and start typing. Draft documents, track notes, share ideas, edit, and chat all in one place.
